Alexander Ovechkin Says He Was ‘In the Toilet’ During Rough Start to March

Capitals Jets HockeyAlexander Ovechkin had a tough start to the month of March. Through the first eight games, Ovechkin had just two goals and five assists.

But “Ovi” has turned it around during the last five contests. The Washington captain has scored six goals and three assists to help the Caps win four of their last five games.

Ovechkin has always been one for interesting phrases and, according NHL.com’s Corey Masisak, the Russian forward stated, “Right now I’m scoring goals and I’m king of the world. Couple weeks I was almost in the toilet. Maybe [they] forgot to flush me.”

Ovechkin can certainly entertain, and if he continues to produce for Washington, his teammates will allow his bizarre hyperbole to continue.
