Will MiddlebrooksIt seems as if every team is switching to green uniforms in honor of St. Patrick’s Day and, of course, one of America’s most Irish cities had to get in on the green uni craze.

When the Boston Red Sox took the field Sunday afternoon to take on the Tampa Bay Rays in Fort Myers, they did so sporting new green jerseys and caps to honor one of America’s most celebrated holidays.

The Sox have long made a tradition of wearing their green hats and jerseys for the holiday, and it appears that some of the luck rubbed off on starting pitcher Jon Lester.

After pitching six innings on Sunday without allowing a baserunner, he may just want to switch to green uniforms all the time.
