The last time the Bruins faced off against the Capitals, Joel Ward sent the B’s home unhappy … for the entirety of a (long) postseason. Now, the Bruins are in Washington to see Ward and friends once more, but the stakes won’t nearly be as high as they were back in Game 7.
While Boston might wish to exact some revenge against the Capitals for what they did in the playoffs, the bigger focus needs to remain on keeping pace with the Canadiens in the standings. Besides, with the Caps where they are in the standings themselves, a win here is nothing to be too excited about.
