Chris Kelly‘s leg injury leaves the Bruins down a center for Tuesday’s tilt with Pittsburgh.
The injury to the third-line centerman will result in some lineup shuffling by head coach Claude Julien, who will shift Rich Peverley — a natural center — to the middle on the third line and flank him with Jordan Caron and Jay Pandolfo. The Bruins’ depth at center prepares them for such a situation, but, as Jack Edwards and Andy Brickley pointed out during W.B. Mason Bruins Face-Off LIVE, losing Kelly for any extended time period would be a serious blow to the B’s.
