Bruins Embracing Red Rooster T-Shirt This Season in Same Spirit As Fabled Starter Jacket From 2011 Cup Run (Video)

When the Bruins won their Stanley Cup back in 2011, a game didn’t go by in the postseason when the team’s fabled starter jacket wouldn’t get passed around the locker room to much fanfare. Now, the latest iteration of the tradition has been revealed.

Andrew Ference bought a red rooster t-shirt for the team to pass around, apparently after learning that roosters are said to bring luck. Nathan Horton was the first to don the threads after a win against Washington, followed by Dennis Seidenberg on Thursday night.

NESN Nation’s Dan Duquette has more about the team’s latest tradition in the video above.
