Dan Boyle and Corey Perry got into a good old punch-flinging fight in Wednesday night’s Ducks-Sharks game, but the scrap hardly had the best punch of the night, as Perry heated things up moments before with a vicious sucker punch.
As San Jose took off down the ice on an odd-man rush with a 3-0 lead, Perry found the need to go to great lengths to stop the Sharks attack — and offered up a pretty cheap shot in doing so.
Perry got himself ahead of Boyle as they raced down the ice and laid a nice right hook in the Sharks blue-liner’s kisser, right before San Jose converted its fourth goal of the evening. The Boyle-instigated fight a few minutes later was just good measure after that shot.
