Someone forgot to tell Berry (Ga.) College right-hander Levi Austin that football season is over.
After tossing a wild pitch on Saturday, the Division III pitcher raced Hendrix College’s Collin Radack to the plate. But instead of waiting for the relay from his catcher, Austin decided to take matters into his own hands, throwing his shoulder into the baserunner and nearly igniting a bench-clearing brawl. The run counted, of course, and Austin was — surprisingly — allowed to remain in the game.
It’s too bad the 6-foot-4, 205-pound hurler is a senior. He would have made one heck of a safety on Berry’s football team. Check out the hit in the video below. (h/t Deadspin)
