Marc Gasol found a creative way to foul Derrick Favors on Saturday night.

The Grizzlies center lost his shoe after hitting a 6-footer when Favors stepped on his heel on the way down. Gasol’s teammate, Ed Davis, returned the shoe to the big man on the other end of the court as Gasol was jawing to refs complaining about the previous play.

When Favors got the ball and drove to the basket, Gasol swung his shoe around the Jazz forward’s back and hit him in the side. Gasol was whistled for a foul, but not a technical foul as some have suggested he should have. To paraphrase Austin Powers, who fouls with a shoe? Honestly.
