So, this is what “Your car broke down? Sure, I’ll give you a lift” looks like when the people involved are billionaires.

Mavericks owner Mark Cuban lent the team’s private plane to the Chicago Bulls last weekend after the Bulls had some problems with the plane they use to ferry the team around the league. The situation was apparently pretty bad — one radio analyst aboard the plane told ESPN that explosions, backfiring and sparks were all part of the malfunction that led to the Bulls’ plane being turned around and grounded in Chicago — but it turned out nicely when Cuban decided to share.

The Bulls used the Mavericks’ plane to go to San Antonio on Monday night and then fly home Wednesday while the folks in Chicago did some maintenance work.

After the loan, Bulls forward Lou Amundson gave Cuban his thanks via Twitter.
