Peter ChiarelliPeter Chiarelli has some tough decisions to make. To be sure, that’s going to be the case for any NHL general manager come trade deadline time, but it is ringing especially true this year in the wake of Boston’s recent downturn.

Despite a hot start that had many fans dreaming of another Bruins championship, the team has since fallen back down to Earth. A difficult schedule in March has exposed some of the team’s flaws, and injuries to Chris Kelly, David Krejci and Adam McQuaid have tested the Bruins’ depth.

As the trade deadline nears and the B’s suddenly find themselves in the midst of unexpected struggles, many are looking to the Boston front office to make a move and help right the ship. What Chiarelli decides is best for the team, however, remains to be seen.

NESN.com’s Mike Cole spoke with NESN Nation’s Dan Duquette on the podcast Wednesday, and the two broke down what the Bruins should be looking for as the trade deadline looms. They also touched on the Anaheim Ducks’ free-spending ways, what’s wrong with the New York Rangers and more.
