GeorgetownSaturday’s Big East championship game between the Louisville Cardinals and Syracuse Orange will be the last time these two respected teams meet on the Madison Square Garden floor in the Big East Tournament. But it appears the Big East conference name will remain.

While teams like Notre Dame, Connecticut, Louisville, and Syracuse are seeking new ventures, the Big East has compiled 10 teams that will make up its conference next year. Those teams include the Catholic 7 — Depaul, Georgetown, Marquette, Providence, Seton Hall, St. John’s, and Villanova — as well as Butler and Xavier from the Atlantic 10 conference and Creighton of the Missouri Valley Conference, according to Andy Katz of ESPN.

Katz also states that the revived Big East will play an 18-game, round-robin schedule next season, and the annual tournament will remain at the Garden.
