Since the New York Post beat us to it, all we can do is reprint the first paragraph of their article and bow in admiration:
“He’s the ultimate benchwarmer!”
That was the lead sentence to the Post’s news story on Tuesday about Lamar Odom falling asleep on a courthouse bench during a child custody hearing in New York. The sleepy Clippers forward was in town to fight for custody of his 14-year-old daughter, Destiny, and 11-year-old son, Lamar Jr., with his former girlfriend Liza Morales.
Odom, clearly worn out from a game against the Thunder two nights before, curled up on a bench in the hallway while lawyers met privately to work out details, the Post reports. Eventually, a court officer approached the snoozing Odom and asked him to sit up.
In the spirit of a happy ending, the Post reports that “Odom’s baby mamma … has no beefs” with current wife Khloe Kardashian, and “even had one pleasant meeting with her.” So that’s good.
