DolphinsThis just in on the uniform beat: That swimming, helmet-less mammal is indeed the Dolphins’ new logo.

The Dolphins have been considering logo changes for some time, and the new design was leaked in recent weeks. Armando Salguero of the Miami Herald now reports that, according to various sources, that is definitely the new logo for the Dolphins.

Salguero had some other tidbits about Miami’s uniform change. He said the facemasks on the helmets will be all white for the first time in franchise history, rather than the customary aqua.

The team will unveil the new uniforms April 25, on the first day of the NFL Draft, Salguero reports. Miami’s newly drafted members will get to show off the look when they are welcomed by the team at draft festivities.

“The Dolphins’ new logo comes straight from the top of the organization,” he said while describing the expected backlash for the change.

While the team’s head honchos have not commented on the logos, Salguero said merchandise with the new look is already circulating.
