Rich Peverley Mental Lapse in Transition Game Leads to Maple Leafs Goal (Video)

NESN.com staff will pick the two or three best Amica Coverage Plays of the previous week for games played from Friday night to Thursday night. Voting will begin every Friday morning and conclude on Monday.

The Bruins’ loss Saturday night to the Maple Leafs was a tough pill to swallow. The B’s put forth a solid effort, but weren’t able to capitalize on their opportunities in front of the net.

On top of their offensive woes, the Bruins got caught on their heels in transition, which opened up another can of worms. In the video above, Bruins center Rich Peverley thinks his teammates have control of the puck on the offensive end and proceeds to attempt to get off the ice, presumably for a bit of rest.

The Bruins end up losing the puck and are caught in a 2-on-1 on defense, with Dennis Seidenberg taking on Clark Macarthur and Jean-Michel Liles. The end result is a Maple Leafs goal scored by Nazem Kadri.

Check out the play in the video above.
