Rob Gronkowski isn’t bothered by much. Multiple surgeries to repair a broken left forearm might be the biggest bother he’s had over the past year. So, when it comes to the possibility of a gay teammate, Gronk has no issue.
Gronkowski has had quite an interesting offseason, whether it be partying shirtless at the Super Bowl, body slamming a buddy in Las Vegas or even being offered millions of dollars to do porn. Gronk discussed his wild ride over the last few months during an interview on ESPN New York radio on Thursday. During the interview, he also openly addressed the idea of having a gay teammate.
“You have to accept the player,” Gronkowski said. “Everyone has their own ways to live their life, and as long as he’s respecting me, keeping distance, respecting myself, then I will respect him back. If he’s being a great teammate and he’s a guy on the field doing a great job, then you have nothing to complain about. He’s another teammate and another friend.”
Since entering the NFL in 2010, Gronk has been constantly focused on doing whatever it takes to win. So, it should come as no surprise that Gronk would welcome any teammate alongside him as long as they help the Patriots win.
“If someone is on my team and they are a great teammate and a great player on the field, helping the team win, that’s all you can ask for,” Gronk added.
Gronk’s health is the biggest concern of the Patriots right now, but it must be nice to see that the All-Pro tight end would be such a welcoming teammate.
