The Allen Americans are a CHL team you may or may not have heard of. McDonald’s is a restaurant that you may have frequented quite a bit (even if you don’t want to admit it). So what happens when you combine the two of them?
The team recently held a “McDonald’s Night,” which didn’t mean the concession stands had been filled with dollar menu items or feature Grimace riding around on the Zamboni. Instead, the Americans wore Ronald McDonald jerseys which were later auctioned off for charity.
That wasn’t all, though. Apparently the good people with the Americans also used the opportunity to do a pretty awesome commercial for the team. That’s where Ronald McDonald steps in. The face of the Mickey D’s franchise took center stage in the Americans’ locker room where he gave his version of Herb Brooks’ speech from the movie Miracle.
The rest, as they say, is history.
