Swarm of Bees Colonizes Crossbar At Brazilian Soccer Game, Delays Kickoff (Video)

These guys must’ve drawn the short straw for this job.

In a game between Brazilian clubs Ponte Preta and Atletico Sorocaba on Saturday, two men dressed as cosmonauts tried everything they could to remove a gaggle of bees that perched themselves on the corner of the crossbar.

Workers used fire, smoke and special chemicals to eradicate the bees from the goalpost, but the incident delayed the start of the game held at Moisés Lucarelli Stadium.

Reports did not indicate if anyone suffered injuries from this frightening infestation, but the visiting goalkeeper will probably never turn up at a game without bug spray (better yet — a flamethrower) again.

Check out the bees’ determined resistance against exterminators in the video below.
