Adam Scott is the first Australian to win The Masters.
Scott beat Angel Cabrera on the second hole of a playoff, after both golfers made matching birdies on the 72nd hole. This marks the second year in a row that The Masters went into a sudden death playoff.
Both Scott and Cabrera parred on hole No. 18 in the first playoff hole, then Scott hit a 12-foot birdie putt on the 10th to take home the green jacket. Scott celebrated with caddie Steve Williams, who also caddied for the majority of Tiger Woods‘ major titles.
The tournament leaders went back and forth all day, with Cabrera and Jason Day each taking turns in the top spot.
Day came in third, finishing at 7-under and Woods, the overwhelming favorite, came in fourth place at 5-under par.
