Though he plays hockey on the other side of the country, the Boston Marathon explosions hit home for Coyotes defenseman Keith Yandle.

Yandle, a native of Milton, Mass., and graduate of Cushing Academy, paid tribute to the victims of Monday’s tragedy by writing the words “Pray for Boston” on his skate for Phoenix’s game against the Sharks on Monday night. Phillies outfielder Ben Revere made a similar gesture earlier in the day in Cincinnati.
