The Red Sox resumed play in Cleveland Tuesday night, marking the first Boston sports event to take place since Monday’s tragedy at the Boston Marathon.
Many athletes have come out in support of the city of Boston, and Red Sox players have expressed their condolences to the victims involved. David Ortiz, who is in the midst of a rehab stint with Triple-A Pawtucket, is a 10-year Red Sox veteran, and addressed the event during the pregame for the PawSox’ Tuesday matinee.
