In the realm of useless things, this idea might have just become the ultimate ruler.
For the first — and hopefully last — time ever, fans can vote for the NBA’s Most Valuable Player award via Twitter. All they need to do is tweet the player’s first and last name with the hashtag #KiaMVP to make their voices heard.
This is absolutely destined for some hardcore Twitter trolling, right? It won’t be too long before smart alecks like the guy below abuse this process and make a mockery of it.

Fans can also vote online at NBA.com, as they have been able to for the last three years. Thankfully, all fan votes will be pooled together into one vote out of the 123 ballots. Those other 122 votes will come from broadcasters and sportswriters.
That is a good thing, because there is only one “right” answer for MVP this season, and it is LeBron James, no matter how much many of us might hate to admit it. Carmelo Anthony and Chris Paul have had great seasons, but the winner should be James in a landslide. Fans who vote for anyone other than James should be banned from casting votes in future MVP races, which presumably will accept votes via Tumblr, Vine and FaceTime.
