Fresh Faces Help Set Tone for Red Sox, With ‘Great Expectations’ Possible After Opening Day Win (Video)

Don’t jump to any overzealous conclusions after just one game, but the Red Sox looked pretty good on Opening Day.

Shane Victorino drove in three runs, Jose Iglesias had three (infield) hits and Jackie Bradley Jr. impressed early to help the Sox start the season on the right foot. With plenty of new faces in the fold, it was reassuring to see everyone working together on the victory — and the fact that it was against the Yankees certainly didn’t hurt.

NESN Nation’s Dan Duquette is fired up to finally see the Red Sox back in first place, even if it’s for the one game. He’s also giving Victorino our “Great Expectations” player of the game after this one. Who’s yours?

Aetna Strikeouts for A Cause

For every strikeout by a Red Sox pitcher at Fenway Park in June, Aetna will donate $250 to Boston Health Care for the Homeless Program. Through June 25, the donation mark stands at $30,000.

Through their continued efforts in the local community, Aetna is helping to build a healthier world -- one city and one strikeout at a time.
