Joel Hanrahan Back in Bullpen, Eager to Play But With No Clear-Cut Role (Video)

Joel Hanrahan is no longer strictly living the life of a closer.

Hanrahan was activated from the 15-day disabled list on Tuesday, just in time for the Red Sox’ matchup against the Blue Jays in Toronto on Wednesday night. Prior to being place on the DL with an injury, Hanrahan struggled in the closer position, and manager John Farrell hasn’t given Hanrahan a role just yet on his return but is glad to have the reliever back on the roster.

Hear what Farrell and Hanrahan had to say in the video above.

Aetna Strikeouts for A Cause

For every strikeout by a Red Sox pitcher at Fenway Park in June, Aetna will donate $250 to Boston Health Care for the Homeless Program. Through June 25, the donation mark stands at $30,000.

Through their continued efforts in the local community, Aetna is helping to build a healthier world -- one city and one strikeout at a time.
