Montreal Could Get MLB Team If City Approves Downtown Stadium (Video)

Remember the Montreal Expos? The MLB could see a second team move to the great white north if the funding is right.

With the Bruins in Montreal and the Red Sox in Toronto, The Boston Globe’s Nick Cafardo discussed the possibility of Montreal getting a new team with NESN’s Tom Caron. Major League Baseball has seen franchises return to cities that lost teams in the past with Seattle, Milwaukee and Washington.

Cafardo mentioned the Rays as a possible team that could move to Montreal if a new stadium isn’t built in Tampa. Montreal would need to get a stadium approved with a retractable roof before any discussions become serious.

Watch the video above to hear Cafardo and Caron discuss the possibility of baseball returning to Montreal.
