Ben Revere made arguably the catch of the year at Great American Ball Park on Monday, but that’s not what will endear him to fans in Boston.

In the wake of the Boston Marathon explosions, the young Phillies outfielder attached a strip of tape with the words “Pray for Boston” to his glove when Philadelphia took on the Reds in Cincinnati. He then used that glove to rob Todd Frazier of an extra-base hit with a sprawling grab in center field and completed the highlight-reel play by doubling up baserunner Jay Bruce at first.

“Just trying to reach out to the family out there,” Revere told reporters after the game, according to MLB.com. “Just keep them in heart. It just hurts to see something like that happen. It’s pain. It’s painful. I can’t imagine those families right now. Every day is precious. Every single day is precious. You should wake up every morning and thank God for letting you wake up that morning and get through the day, because you never know what happens. Each and every day I pray for safety.”
