After last week’s emotional Sports Illustrated cover featuring three cops responding to the attacks at the Boston Marathon, the magazine decided to go with an a special cover that highlights the city’s strength. The regional cover will feature Red Sox outfielder Jonny Gomes standing on second base, flexing his arms, with the words “Strong” written across the middle of the cover.

As the playoffs get into full swing, SI has another cover with Thunder forward Kevin Durant, which includes a quote from the young star that could mean trouble for the rest of the NBA.

“I’ve been second my whole life. I was the second-best player in high school. I was the second pick in the draft. I’ve been second in MVP voting three times. I came in second in the finals. I’m tired of being second … I’m done with it.”

Gomes and the words “Boston Strong” can be seen in the top corner of the Durant cover as well.
