Red Sox, Orioles Kick Things Off With Surprising Lack of Fireworks, Considering Recent History (Video)

The Orioles seemed to take great delight in beating the Red Sox early and often last year, but you wouldn’t necessarily know that judging by the way 2013 has started.

With the O’s back for Boston’s home opener, Adam Jones fired some preliminary shots toward the Sox by admitting a wish to “silence” the Fenway Park crowd. The Red Sox, meanwhile, have yet to respond.

NESN Nation’s Dan Duquette is a little surprised at the lack of fireworks in this game — in more ways than one. Check it out in the above video.

Aetna Strikeouts for A Cause

For every strikeout by a Red Sox pitcher at Fenway Park in June, Aetna will donate $250 to Boston Health Care for the Homeless Program. Through June 25, the donation mark stands at $30,000.

Through their continued efforts in the local community, Aetna is helping to build a healthier world -- one city and one strikeout at a time.
