Jay-ZRobinson Cano has switched agents, leaving behind a man known to push teams’ bidding as high as it can go in free agency.

With Scott Boras out of the picture and Cano working with CAA Sports, which is partnering with Jay-Z‘s Roc Nation Sports, all signs now seem to point toward Cano staying with the Yankees and possibly signing an extension this year.

The New York Post reports that sources close to Cano say that is indeed the case.

“Robbie wants to be a Yankee,” the Post reports a friend of Cano’s as saying. “He wants to get a deal done.”

CAA clients generally stay with their current teams, the Post reports. Cano will be represented by Brodie Van Wagenen of Roc Nation Sports, and Van Wagenen was optimistic that the Yankees and Cano could negotiate again.

“Sure,” he said of Cano getting a new deal before he hits free agency after this season. “He’s not a free agent until November.”

Cano has not commented on the move but said he will talk about it before Wednesday night’s game against the Red Sox. He is still expected to fetch top dollar, whether it be in free agency or as the Yankees look to keep him as their cornerstone for years to come.
