Report: Yovani Gallardo Charged With Drunken Driving Early Tuesday Morning

The Milwaukee Brewers’ No. 1 starter was charged with drunken driving after police said he registered a blood-alcohol level of .22, well over the legal limit in Wisconsin of .08, according to Drew Olson of ESPN Wisconsin. Gallardo was pulled over for driving slowly and deviating lanes, according to police.

Gallardo will not face jail time since he has no prior criminal record. He will be fined $300 for driving while intoxicated, another $300 for level of intoxication and $178.80 for lane deviation, according to the report.

Gallardo has struggled to open the season for the Brewers, posting a 6.61 ERA with nine strikeouts in 16 1/3 innings. He is 0-1 with a 1.776 WHIP through three starts. Gallardo is set to pitch again Thursday night in Milwaukee against the Giants.
