Rick Middleton Has the Most Career Shorthanded Goals in Bruins History

Rick Middleton holds the all-time shorthanded goals record for the Boston Bruins with 25.

Middleton just edges out fellow Bruins great Derek Sanderson, who had 24 over the course of his illustrious career. It is no surprise Middleton had so many shorthanded goals, as the two-way forward played in 881 games for the B’s while netting 402 total goals.

Middleton’s trade to the Bruins after the 1975-76 season is still considered one of the biggest steals in NHL history. Boston acquired the right winger from the Rangers for veteran Ken Hodge. Middleton had an outstanding career for the Bruins, while Hodge only played just one game following the swap.
