Rick PitinoFew doubted that the Louisville Cardinals could roll to a championship this year — but, at some point this season, even coach Rick Pitino wasn’t thinking about cutting down the nets.

Pitino’s team is now making sure he sticks to a promise he made earlier in the season. The 60-year-old Hall of Fame coach said he would get a tattoo if the Cardinals won it all, and now he says he’ll follow through.

“About 12 or 13 games ago, all of these guys, when they’d say hello, they’d say, ‘Get a tattoo,'” Pitino told CBS’ Jim Nantz after the game. “They said, if you win the national championship, you are getting a tattoo. I said, ‘Yeah, I am getting a tattoo.”

He now has to make good on the agreement, with the only challenge being what the tattoo will be, and where.

“We have a couple ideas,” junior Luke Hancock said. “I don’t think he knew what he was getting into when he signed up for that one.”

And who would have thought Pitino wasn’t all-in on himself winning another title?
