Being the son of Joe Montana must be a tough draw.
However, Nate Montana isn’t giving up on his dream of making it into the NFL. Montana worked out at the super regional combine that took place at Cowboys Stadium on Monday. The legendary quarterback’s son is looking to make the unlikely jump from Division II to the NFL.
Unfortunately, NFL.com’s analyst Bucky Brooks called the younger Montana a “longshot” to make the NFL, saying he has “difficulty making pro throws.”
“He’s a great kid, his measurables are fine, but in terms of playing at the next level, his performance here was not very good,” added Brooks.
Montana had a tumultuous college career where he failed to climb the depth chart at his father’s alma mater: Notre Dame. However, the 23-year-old did finish his career strong at Division II West Virginia Wesleyan. Montana led the conference with 19 touchdown passes and almost 2,500 passing yards.
