Young Jack Hoffman, the star of Nebraska’s spring game is officially a “Star Rookie.”

Upper Deck trading cards has created a special rookie playing card for the young athlete who stole hearts when he scored a 69-yard touchdown at the Nebraska spring game. The video of Hoffman crossing the goal line was a viral hit on YouTube, having been viewed more than 7 million times.

“Jack is the type of inspirational athlete who absolutely deserves an Upper Deck rookie card,” said Chris Carlin, Upper Deck’s sports marketing manager.

“Upper Deck does not want to risk Jack’s amateur status with the NCAA so the card we created will not be part of a mainstream trading card release.”

The company will produce a limited number of promotional blow-up rookie cards for Hoffman to sign and use for charitable purposes.
