The Toronto Maple Leafs beat the Bruins on Sunday night in Game 6, and they’ll also beat the Bruins in the race to get back to Boston for Monday night’s Game 7.

The B’s announced Sunday night shortly after their 2-1 loss to the Leafs in Game 6 that they would not be traveling back to Boston directly after the game. The reason? They had airplane problems, which will force them to remain in Toronto for the night.

“Late during [Sunday night’s] game we were made aware that there was a malfunction with our airplane,” Bruins general manager Peter Chiarelli said in a statement. “As a result we are staying in Toronto on Sunday night and the team will travel to Boston on Monday morning.”

Game 7, of course, is scheduled for Monday night in Boston.
