David Ortiz Confident About Fielding Prowess As Slugger Makes Season Debut at First Base (Video)

The Red Sox’ first trip of the year to a National League park means it’s time for David Ortiz to dust off the ol’ first baseman’s mitt.

But although Ortiz seldom plays the field, the slugger’s first-base skill set is more than up to par. Ortiz did not commit an error in seven games under NL rules last season, and he enters Thursday night’s game in Philadelphia with a career .990 fielding percentage.

Aetna Strikeouts for A Cause

For every strikeout by a Red Sox pitcher at Fenway Park in June, Aetna will donate $250 to Boston Health Care for the Homeless Program. Through June 25, the donation mark stands at $30,000.

Through their continued efforts in the local community, Aetna is helping to build a healthier world -- one city and one strikeout at a time.
