For whatever reason, the NBA has been enamored with fashion culture for a few seasons now. However, its preoccupation with glasses without lenses and other pseudo-hipster duds do seem a bit odd on 7-foot professional athletes rather than a random skinny bearded kid in Williamsburg.
At least Dwyane Wade seems to be bringing some regional Miami Vice style to his look.
After Thursday night’s Game 2 drubbing of the Chicago Bulls, Wade strolled into his postgame news conference wearing quite the jacket. Mostly white and covered with a sometimes-neon floral pattern, the jacket wasn’t necessarily lifted directly from Don Johnson, but it definitely feels like it could have been time warped from the 1980s … or perhaps another planet, entirely.
