Eric LeGrand will finally be able to move about on his own.

The former Rutgers defensive tackle, who was paralyzed from the shoulders down after making a tackle, finally moved home 944 days after the accident. LeGrand’s home is in the same location as the house he grew up in, but it was completely rebuilt and equipped with bigger doorways, automatic doors, elevators and aluminum tracks to help him get around.

The house cost nearly $400,000 to build, but it was paid for by the contractors and donations to the Believe Foundation, according to the New Jersey Star-Ledger. Watch the video below to see LeGrand and his mother’s emotional reaction to their new digs.
