Ilya Bryzgalov has long had a fascination with Star Wars and hockey, but now he has made it clear in which order he prefers them.

The Flyers goaltender admitted recently that he hasn’t been watching much playoff hockey since the Flyers failed to qualify for any, and when elaborating, answered as only he could.

“There’s no time,” Bryzgalov explained, “and no real interest. I’d rather watch Star Wars with my son.”

Bryz made news earlier this season involving the sci-fi franchise when he was asked by Lucasfilm to fix the lightsaber color painted on his goalie mask with Yoda, so he’s clearly a big fan. It’s hard to blame Bryzgalov for doing right by his family, then — as long as he sticks to the original movie trilogy.
