Jacoby Ellsbury Earns ‘Running Retaliation’ As Red Sox Run Away From Phillies in Win (Video)

Franklin Morales won his first start of the season for the Red Sox, but Jacoby Ellsbury stole the show — and a lot of bases.

Ells swiped five bags against the Phillies on Thursday night, setting a new Red Sox team record in the process. He also might have earned a little bit of revenge after he was plunked in the middle innings of the game, but who’s to say what does and doesn’t give a guy with speed like Ellsbury the green light around the basepaths.

Whatever the reason, NESN Nation’s Dan Duquette is happy it happened, so he’s awarding Ellsbury our “Running Retaliation” player of the game. Who’s yours?

Aetna Strikeouts for A Cause

For every strikeout by a Red Sox pitcher at Fenway Park in June, Aetna will donate $250 to Boston Health Care for the Homeless Program. Through their continued efforts in the local community, Aetna is helping to build a healthier world -- one city and one strikeout at a time.
