Brandon LloydWith Dwight Freeney now officially headed to San Diego, the NFL free-agent market is slowly starting to thin out.

Freeney agreed to a two-year deal with the Chargers over the weekend, removing one of the biggest names from the free-agent radars of teams around the league.

The amount of All-Pro and Pro Bowl talent still available this offseason is pretty unbelievable. Future Hall of Famers like John Abraham and Charles Woodson are still out of work, and there is plenty more talent — though, maybe not Hall of Fame worthy — where they came from.

The offseason work will really start to heat up over the next few weeks with OTAs getting underway, and while some teams are satisfied with their rosters others will need to add depth at certain positions. So, those older but still highly effective free agents may start generating more interest soon enough.

With all that in mind, we took a stab at the 10 best free agents still hanging around on the market. There were some tough cuts like linebacker Brian Urlacher, cornerback Sheldon Brown and safety Quintin Mikell, but that’s only a testament to the depth still out there in free agency.

So, let’s take a swing and see what we come up with.
