The Red Sox didn’t have much to be pleased with Wednesday night after the Twins got a hold of them for the second time in three games, winning 15-8 and touching up two of their young pitchers.
But Jonny Gomes, who hasn’t seen much time on the field this season, provided one moment to remember. Gomes has played in a mere 25 games and had collected just one home run and two RBIs before Wednesday night.
After just one inning of play Wednesday, though, Gomes doubled his home run total and collected four RBIs thanks to a nice little two-out grand slam that erased the Twins’ 4-0 lead.
And what a grand slam it was. Gomes did it the dramatic way, lifting his shot over the Green Monster.
