The Maple Leafs suffered an epic collapse in the final minutes of the third period of Monday night’s Game 7 against the Bruins. Toronto squandered a 4-1 lead and allowed the B’s to force a sudden-death overtime.
Leafs goalie James Reimer had a strong showing throughout the series, and played well even in Monday’s loss. Reimer made 30 saves and did everything he could to keep his team in the game, but in the end it just wasn’t enough. He described the feeling of letting the game-winner in as “heartbreaking.”
