Unfortunately, Nicolas Colsaerts didn’t have to play by the Happy Gilmore rule of “play it where it lies” on Saturday at the Volvo World Match Play Championship.
After Colsaerts hit a drive well into the hazard, a rules official determined the closest drop point was inside a bathroom. The announcers had a good laugh when trying to figure out if he would actually have to take his shot from inside “the loo.”
Colsaerts was able to take relief from that spot and was allowed to drop his ball outside the bathroom with no penalty. The Belgian golfer still wound up putting for par on the complicated hole.
