Charles WoodsonIt’s unclear what took so long, but interest in Charles Woodson is finally picking up.

The veteran defensive back has received interest from the Raiders, Broncos and Panthers, according to Josina Anderson of ESPN. Oakland even sent an initial offer to Woodson.

The former Heisman winner was drafted No. 4 overall by the Raiders in the 1998 NFL draft. He played in Oakland for seven years before signing on with the Green Bay Packers in 2012. Woodson made a switch to safety in his final season with the Packers in 2012. He played just seven games last year, missing time with a broken collarbone.

If Woodson signed on in Denver, it would give him the chance to play with another possible future Hall of Famer, Champ Bailey. Woodson has been named to eight Pro Bowls and seven All-Pro squads.
