Titus YoungThe sad story of former Lions wide receiver Titus Young continues to spiral downward.

On Thursday, The Press-Enterprise reported that Young’s ex-girlfriend, who was not identified by name, has filed a temporary restraining order against Young. In the filing, Young’s ex-girlfriend claims that Young threatened and harassed her.

“He would say things like, ‘I understand why O.J. [Simpson] killed his wife.’ He says, ‘We’re always gonna be a family and I’m always going to be his,’” she says in the filing, according to The Press-Enterprise. “He got mad and yelled at my neighbors and tried to fight multiple people that he doesn’t even know.”

The restraining order requires Young to stay at least 100 yards away from his ex-girlfriend at all times. Young’s ex-girlfriend, who is the mother of Young’s child, Titus Jr., also makes the claim, like Young’s father, that the former NFL player is not well mentally.

“Titus Young Sr. has been clinically diagnosed with a mental disorder, and I am afraid of what he is capable of doing,” the restraining order request reads. “He also has been in a mental help facility more than once and still believes that he does not have a problem.”

The restraining order shines a light on more bizarre behavior on the part of Young, who was arrested three times in the course of a week, including twice in one day. In the court filing, Young’s ex-girlfriend claims that Young would often begin inexplicably talking to himself and would go on walks without returning home. She also accuses Young of taking their son to San Diego without telling her, which led her to file a missing persons report.
