There’s no doubt that the breakout star of the Bruins-Rangers second-round series was rookie defenseman Torey Krug.
He was so good in the series against New York that John Tortorella even praised the undersized blue-liner — even if the head coach couldn’t come up with his name right away. Krug also broke some records in the series, becoming the first rookie to score a goal in four of his first five playoff games.
NESN’s Billy Jaffe says the Penguins will be keying in on the rookie known for his sharp one-timer on power plays in the Eastern Conference finals. But Krug may be able to use his size to his advantage, since bigger players will come at him more aggressively.
