We may soon learn whether or not the mayor of one of the largest cities in North America smoked crack cocaine.

On Tuesday, the gossip site Gawker announced that it had raised the $200,000 (as part of a campaign affectionately named “Crackstarter”) to buy a video allegedly showing Toronto mayor Rob Ford smoking crack cocaine. A writer for Gawker and two journalists with The Toronto Star have previously seen the video, and claim it is authentic.

The seller of said video, however, appears to be MIA, so Ford may have temporarily dodged a bullet.

Perhaps that’s why Ford appeared to be in such a good mood on Tuesday. Of course, the day is Ford’s birthday, so he had a reason to be in a good mood, anyway, but he seemed to go above and beyond when he brought out cake to the media — a media which hasn’t been too kind to Ford, of late.

The cake, itself, was pretty entertaining, too, depicting a football field. Of course, it’s not the first time Ford’s shown an interest in football, as there’s this famous GIF of Ford falling down while trying to throw a pass out of a snap. There’s also the political scandal which almost cost Ford his job as mayor that all started when Ford solicited donations for his football charitable foundation.

We’ll see if the allegations against Ford hold true, but for now you can check out Ford’s birthday cake (which just might be more appropriate for a child’s party) in the tweet below.
