Wade Redden Emerges as Unlikely Hero Early for Bruins While Power Play Storylines Begin to Play Out (Video)

Playoff hockey is a funny thing, in that it’s rarely the players you’d expect who end up shining on the sport’s biggest stage.

Wade Redden is that player so far in Game 1, after tallying a goal and an assist in the first period against the Maple Leafs. The defenseman’s early heroics are especially relevant on the power play, an area sure to be of concern for the Bruins as they head forward into the postseason.
