Tim Tebow, Aaron Hernanez, Tom BradyFOXBORO, Mass. — Aaron Hernandez appears to be recovering well from a minor shoulder scope he underwent this offseason.

He’s been back on the field the past two weeks for OTAs and minicamp and he can lift his arm enough to catch passes from Tom Brady. There may be more urgency to get more acclimated if this were the regular season. But because Week 1 is still three months away, Hernandez can take his time to get his body fully recovered.

“I’d say so cause at the end of the day you want to be healthy for season,” Hernandez said in response to whether he’s being more careful with his shoulder now than he would during the season. “You don’t want to overdo it now and have it hurt you in the season. Just taking care of it. Make sure you limit yourself. Take it day by day.”

“Day by day” is a mantra with the tight ends in Foxboro. Rob Gronkowski and Hernandez repeat it endlessly to the media. We got two “day by days” out of Hernandez on Tuesday, but it’s true to a certain extent. With injuries it’s wise to take them one day at a time and that’s what Hernandez is doing. He appears to be getting more work in with each practice, and if he keeps at this pace, he should be ready to go full tilt by training camp.

“Taking it day by day. And hopefully by then I’m ready,” Hernandez said about training camp.

Hernandez also said that his partner in crime, Gronkowski, looks good walking around the facility. Gronkowski has not been spotted during any media availability at the stadium.
