The Colts added a veteran presence to their backfield Tuesday.
The team signed former Giants running back Ahmad Bradshaw. Bradshaw ran for 1,015 yards on 221 carries in 14 games in 2012. He had six rushing touchdowns and added 245 yards on 23 receptions through the air. The 27-year-old back came to the Giants as a seventh-round pick out of Marshall in 2007. Since then, he’s totaled 4,232 yards out of the backfield on 921 carries and 1,087 yards on 132 receptions. He has 35 total career touchdowns.
Bradshaw will likely share time with second-year player Vick Ballard. Ballard had 814 yards on 211 carries and two touchdowns as a rookie. He had 17 receptions for 152 yards and one touchdown. The Colts also still have running backs Donald Brown and Delone Carter to compete for snaps.
